God's forgiveness has been offered thorough Jesus Christ and extended to His Church by priests.  The sacrament can be called Reconciliation, Penance, or Confession.  It heals us of our sins.

Jesus Christ began this Sacrament of Healing for all sinful members of his Church.  Catholics should receive this sacrament promptly if they find themselves in the misfortune of mortal sin.  And for spiritual growth, Catholics are are invited to receive this Sacrament frequently, such as monthly, or once each "season" (Advent, Lent, summer).
